Certification
Glendalong Kennel’s Quality Management program

As part of Glendalong Kennel’s Quality Management program, all certified brood bitches and Stud Dogs must meet the following breeding criteria:

Hip Dysplasia:

Dogs are x-rayed and scored in accordance with the Australian National Rottweiler Association criteria.

The “Dogs Victoria” (Victorian Canine Association) requirements for registration of a litter are the x-raying of both parents for Hip Dysplasia. This does not guarantee that dogs do not have hip dysplasia. Only dogs that have passed the breeding qualification for the Australian National Rottweiler Association would be classified as suitable for breeding.

OCD (Elbow Dysplasia):

Dogs are x-rayed and graded in accordance with the Australian National Rottweiler Association criteria. This does not guarantee that puppies would be free from OCD. Only dogs that have passed the breeding qualification for the Australian National Rottweiler Association would be classified as suitable for breeding.

Eye and Mouth Certificates:

Dogs carry an Australian National Rottweiler Association Eye and Mouth certificate certifying that they meet the Association requirements.

Von Hillderbrand’s Disease:

Although it is believed that Australian dogs are comparatively free of this disorder, it affects at least 15% of dogs in the USA. Whilst this is not a National Association criteria, the kennel does from time to time use bloodlines from the USA.

Glendalong Kennels believe that, as a precaution and where deemed applicable, breeding bitches may be tested.
